How to Engage Your Fans and Followers With Awards

Continuing the conversation with your fans and followers is key to success in selling on the internet.  So the common question is... how do I build engagement and obtain a sense of community as well as increasing the value for everyone that is participating in my community or attending my online event.

One fabulous idea I've recently learned to implement is from the Virtual Event Minisite www.virtualeventminisite.com.

Building an awards and incentive program into your event can really pump up the energy and get people taking action, collaborating and interacting.  These are the 7 steps to build an engaging awards program.

  1. Determine the measurement system.  What are people accumulating to qualify or compete for an award. This could be points, stars, gold bars, diamonds, have fun with this, make it relevant to your audience and content.
  2. Determine the award structure. You could provide awards for:
    • Top 2-3 people receive awards
    • Every one that reaches a particular level in your program.
    • Team challenge winners.  Put people into teams and have them compete for leveled prizes.
    • Give awards each week or at the end.
  3. Determine the awards. Here are some ideas:
    • Upgrade to the next level of your program
    • Promotion of their work/offer to your list
    • Additional products- courses, books, etc.
    • One on one coaching
  4. Determine what you are going to award points for.  Some ideas of what you can award points for:
    • Comments on your event site.
    • Posts on Facebook
    • Tweets
    • Status Updates on Linked in
    • YouTube Views and Comments - for example viewing the orientation video, or creating a YouTube video, Posting to a blog post
    • Referring new members
    • Logging into the event website
    • Points for completing homework assignments
  5. Set up the system for tracking the awards. You will need to track this either on a spreadsheet or another automated system that is built into your virtual event minisite.
  6. Communicate the awards program clearly to participants.
  7. Announce the winners and encourage people. Remind participants what the next award is that they can achieve.

Freedom Exists in Love

Thank you Shiloh Sophia for teaching a wonderful process of painting with intention and meditation! This painting was an exercise in letting go of anger and the circumstances of the past. And a discovery... when you look at this picture what do you feel?  Can anger, hostility, frustration exist in the same space?

Intuitive Painting

Wild Heart Painting!  Wow!  I think I've found my heart centered home.  Chris Zydel teaches people to paint intuitively and discover them selves through painting. Here is her site:
http://creativejuicesarts.com/wild-heart-painting/
What is striking about this is that I recently had my own bit of discovery.  For the previous year, I had enjoyed a lovely habit of sitting by the pool on Sundays with a group of friends and painting. It was a joyous exercise of just putting paint to canvas and paper and just exploring art in my own way.  I had a glorious year in this way.

Recently wanting to improve my skills as a painter, I signed up for a quite expensive series of art lessons that I found I tortured my self with, too driven to meet a creative bar that for me I discovered was set too high and I did not particularly like.  And was so dissatisfying to try and paint like an artist or hear the critical suggestions of my instructor.  And half way through I decided  I just did not care.  That art was something I engaged in to express myself on my terms,!  an expression of my inner self.  And so I decided WHO CARES WHAT OTHERS THINK!

I just need to LOVE the PROCESS of creating, who cares about the out come, it is the feel of the brush, feel of the strokes, the smooth slippery feel of lots and lots of paint globby paint my brush.  And the beautiful beautiful friendships of the ladies and children that joined me .  And so I embrace my informal Art Sundays with the sometimes goofy art that results.

Can We Make the World A Million Times Better?

My son today sent me via email today a Note of Appreciation that I just had to share for it's beauty and something I will cherish forever. Find it here> Shaan's Note of Appreciation.

His note was inspired by a project called The Note Project at http://noteproject.com created by Mike O'Mary.

Mike O'Mary (pictured left) believes every one of us has the power to change someone's life. A note from his little sister changed his life forever.

The Note Project is a global movement to make the world a million times better by inspiring 1 million people to write a note of appreciation to someone who made a difference in their lives. It is free to join AND because Mike is so passionate about writing notes of appreciation, a portion of all proceeds from the sale of his book The Note on The Note Project website goes to charities that support literacy projects around the world.

Mike's vision for how The Note Project will change the world is pretty inspiring. He says, "Everyone has the power to make the world a million times better. And it's so simple. Just think of all the people who have made a difference in your life, whether friends, family members, neighbors, teachers, employers, co-workers, old classmates. Think of the good times you had together or the nice things they did for you…Maybe they cheered you up when you were sad or made you feel special when you were questioning your self-worth…Whatever it was, a simple note of appreciation from you could make their day, their week, and maybe even their whole year!"

One day, Mike woke up and thought, "If one simple hand-written note can change my life so profoundly, what if I could inspire one million people to write a note of appreciation? It could make the world a million times better."

And that, in a nutshell, is the essence of Mike's latest creation: The Note Project at http://noteproject.com

Celebrating ARTbundance Coach Training!

Yay!  I've just completed my first practice session for ARTbundance Coach Training!  Just one more practice coaching session and I will be certified!  In thanks for participating as a coach, all of the trainee's prepared a virtual gift basket that contained many lovely free gifts.  I also included a note for some additional digital assets called Asia Reflections - Temple Papers.

During a visit to a temple, I was instructed by the buddhist monk to write my prayers on the paper and then to burn the papers to send my prayers in to the heavens.  I thought they would be great to use for art projects.  If you like, sign up below and I will send you the 6 digitized papers ready to incorporate into your project!

Who am I?

(Warning long post ahead :-) )

I am a conscious observer, an active creator and an expression of God's presence and yet unseen by anyone. If I choose, awaken and discover this and learn to hold onto it beyond the brief moments of inspiration when it is so very clear then we have learned all of the things that we require.

I have a mind. It is the genesis of thought. It is the recorder of my current physical history, my memory. It contains my EGO. Filled with Judgements, Principles, Desires, Pride a need to please others, a want to do everything with perfection and in the best way.  It is not me.  It is filled with others thoughts that have become mine, others judgements of self and others, right and wrong that have become mine.  And overtime these are the things that have been saved to my mind and played back in an unending loop of thoughts and filled my mind with unconscious thought activity.  I am now learning to watch it, to guide it to a more fruitful function.

I have a heart. It is the place where I can find who I really am... and the key organ that keeps my body alive. It generates feelings that tell me what is me, what strengthens me. It generates feelings that give me the skills and information to learn who I truly am! It gives me feelings that indicate for me how I'm thinking.... if I am aware of that connection. Feelings allow us to connect to express who I am, to give life to connect with others to have empathy to care to be connected to express our true self... feel! Our heart an be the expression of the ego. In any event, it reflects what is happening in my min by the feelings it holds. I am learning to listen and hear it. My heart is not me!

I have a body. It provides me a physical space to reside in while I am here on earth. It has five senses that I use to experience the world. Sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste.  All of which give me information about what is happening outside of my body, to my body or what my body is doing. It allows me to express my self and ideas and thoughts in this world by allowing others to hear my thoughts, see how I feel, enabling me to take action in the world, to build physical things that others might experience, to communicate and share idea's. And yet it is not ME!  I am learning to appreciate and pay attention to it.

I have a purpose in this lifetime bigger than the limited me I've lived with for so long or thought I was for so long. The me of my internal world that is being reformed, rediscovered, excavated, expressed, drawn, shined up.  I am learning to discover it, to have faith in it, and to express it.

I AM, THAT I AM not the one I thought I was...

The Journey from Fear to Love

Today I recieved a wonderful gift from Dr. Phil and Jane Montrose.  A video from the Heart of Success Mastery Series.  In this video, he explains with great clarity a frame work for an individuals journey from being captured by the illusion of pain and fear and moving into your greatest work, your uniqueness and love. It is a fabulous framework to understand yourself in this miraculous journey of awakening.  If you are a coach it is a great model to understand where your coachee's are as well.

I had the great pleasure to have Dr. Phil Montrose, the holistic Dr. Phil, was my very first coach and healer years ago at a time when I was releasing emotional trauma from my past as well as learning that I had a gift called Intuition and in transition from one career choice to another.  I learned some very powerful tools to understand where emotional blockages where rooted using Spiritual Kineseology, and then how to free the blockage using EFT and then understand my mode of intuition and structured tools to better utilize it ask for guidance, etc. As my work brought me away from Dr. Phil and my life lead me to other places and experiences I find my self coming back and I will definitely be learning more about holistic coaching as well a revisiting the tools and practices that I learned oh so long ago. Now that I know a few other modalities, it is important to revisit this again with a much more open point of view. Dr. Phil and Jane Montrose have created some of the most power tools to guide emotional healing, I just can not wait!

Like a canyon echoing back he will say, "You are beautiful! You are beautiful! You are beautiful!  If you say, "I do not have enough,."
